Question Good Download Bad Ping

So I've been having this issue for a while, but recently it just got a lot worse. So i have a pretty good pc (specs shown below) and i have great download speeds (usually between 50mbps-100mbps). I don't know why but suddenly my ping is really terrible in everything. I could be on discord in my region and have up to 900ms-1000ms for a solid 30 seconds in which when it settles, it settles on 250ms. I get kicked from most game lobby's because my ping is in the 900's to thousands. I've even gotten to the tens of thousands. I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me figure this out.

How are you connected to the www off your PC? Via Ethernet or WiFi? Are you dealing with a router as the intermediary between the ISP's device/end and your PC?

Im on wifi. And i don't know about that last part.

can you open your modem settings and change ipv4 dns to 8.8.8.8 and ipv6 dns to 2001:4860:4860::8888 ?
try tracert then
otherwise your ping from modem to isp is slowpoke, sometimes non isp dns can help

It may not make any difference but try to disable ipv6 support in the nic settings. It is hard to troubleshoot sometimes because some sites run ipv4 and others run ipv6 and they do not always follow the same path through the internet.

so in my router settings when i go to change the dns, it shows that im clicking the option to change it but its not actually selecting it.
