Question Good FPS in Apex Legends but Low FPS in Dota 2

I have performance issues in Dota 2. I have an Intel Core i3-3220, a GT 1030 2GB GDDR5, and a HyperX 8GB 1866mhz memory. I can run Apex Legends on 1080p low and it can maximize CPU and GPU at around 100%. However, Dota 2 only uses below 50% CPU and GPU usage and is giving me very poor performance. How can I improve my performance in this game?

Here is Dota 2 in 1080p High with only 15fps and below 50% CPU and GPU usage

Here is Apex Legends in 720p low with constant 60fps but using almost 100% of the CPU and GPU.

I'm not running any background programs, and I mostly game. If there was anyway to let Dota 2 use the same resources as Apex Legends, then I'm sure it would have more FPS.

Try going into Nvidia settings and setting the Dota 2 application priority to high performance.

Have you tried dropping the resolution of Dota 2 to the same resolution you play Apex at? I see that you play Apex at 720p while you play Dota 2 at 1080p. Might be the issue?

I have tried that and it seems that the only improvement was 10fps. I've realized that the reason was CPU Throttling and so with a few tweaks, I was able to get the performance I wanted in Dota 2. Thanks for the reply!
