Found a PC i want to buy
AMD 8 Core 4.2 ghz
16gigs of ram
1 tb hardrive
1000 watt power supply
ATI Radeon r9
Asus Military Grade Motherboard

The guy is selling it for $400 and says it plays most games at ultra settings and runs over 138fps

Is this a good pc for the money?

It is good for 400 bucks. 16 gigabytes can not be in a new 400$ system so go for it. 137fps is indeed a lie but in AAA titles you are gonna get 60 fps at high settings.

Edit: You can build one and get better fps on a similar price

I think the seller is trying to dump a FX build that's at the end of its usefulness. As you can see by the other opinions it's not going to get even close to 138FPS. The R9 could be anything. It might be a 290X. It could be a 580. Idk.

The same rings true for Vapour's offer. It's just OLD(doesn't mean bad) but it is a better value. Its performance is similar to the 8350 and doesn't really have a future. Can it handle today's games? Yes it can. The 25 and 2600, from 6 years ago, are still being used today. I think a fair number are OC'd to squeeze out every last frame.

Don't buy from a liar. He's looking for the cousin of a lollipop.

Which CPU, which power supply, which R9 card? It may be worth it at $300, $400 is getting a bit too close to new PC prices, you can get a new AMD Ryzen build for about $600 with a solid state drive and a mid range video card along with a good quality power supply.
