I have a Samsung SyncMaster T24B350 Monitor and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 card connected to the HDMI port. The drivers are up to date and yet the graphics are grainy. Is the monitor too bad for the graphics card or is it something else?

this is caused by your refresh rate not working so well with your resolution. Your monitor is 1080p so in games or in the screen resolution set it to 1920X1080 then set the refresh rate to 60Hz. This should provide a clear image with no grains

I have a radeon card and mine did the same...I had to go into catalyst (driver program for ati), don't know what it is for NVidia, but there is a setting to make it either RGB or component (ypbpr)...yours needs to be changed.
