Good monitor for programming and then descent gaming

Could anyone suggest me a good monitor for programming. I spent lot of times reading, programming. I also like to do gaming with Witcher (latest)etc..

I own a Intel core i5 4460 and looking to purchase a graphic card as well.

Kindly provide both 1080p and 2k options with monitor and graphic compatible with my processor and gigabyteh81m-s. So I can decide .

a 2k monitor is really sweet, but you need like a gtx 1070 for it to play the witcher 3 on ultra .
it would give you a really sweet quality.

but yeah what is your price, not that there is anything wrong with 1080p

If you stick with 1080p, a RX 580 + FreeSync monitor would be a nice pairing. The RX 580 should do Witcher 3 at Ultra in 1080p maybe a few minor FPS dips at times, but FreeSync should help make this less apparent.

Agreed with above though, if you go 1440p a GTX 1070 is your best option. Hope this helps
