Is this a good trade? Hes trading me the specs in the pictures (it's a laptop) and I'm trading him my i5 4690k, EVGA Geforce 740 OC, 12GB DDR3 1600MHZ ram. That I dont use anymore.

If those components were from a system you were actually using, no this is not a good trade.

But, since these are unused spare parts and you get a laptop you can use it's a fair trade.

I haven't seen a laptop yet successfully run an external GPU.

Even without the adapter, I would trade it.

It's a better laptop than no laptop, and you probably won't get enough by selling the parts to buy one with those specs, especially since the 740 video card is pretty out-dated. If that laptop is good or not you will need to see when you test it, a lot of older laptops have issues with crashing during gaming, keys are work and don't work well, battery is bad, case is cracked, screen is scratched, etc..

I've seen the screen it's not cracked neither is the case.
