Good Wifi extender?

Recently I got a tp-Link1750 wireless router, and it works great for my PC upstairs...in 2.4 ghz. I think the range isn't good enough to use 5.0ghz bands because of all the walls and whatnot. Is there a recommended wifi extender? I found this one which seems to be basically made specifically for my router, but I just want to make sure.

My router:

Extender I'm looking at:

Personally I don't like using range extenders because there's a trade-off --- an improvement in signal range at the expense of speed, it's slower than what you get when you connect directly to your router's WiFi (which is already slower than wired LAN).

Instead I bought a pair of plug-in TP-Link powerline adapters --- one next to the router upstairs, and one next to my Smart TV downstairs. This allows me to use ethernet instead of WiFi for my TV and I'm very pleased with the result. Works perfectly.

Give powerline adapters a try, I think you'll be glad you did.
