When i try to open google chrome it closes immediately. I’ve looked it up and none of the solutions I’ve tried have worked. I tried booting windows in safe mode and chrome did open.

I have tried:
Scanning for malware (With malwarebytes)
Reinstalling chrome (With and without revo)
Checking task manager
Deleting user profiles
Deleting chrome.dll
Disabling antivirus

anything on the event viewer for error?
The only recent error I see is “The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer ADMIN-HP that believes it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{a string of numbers and letters}. The master browser is stopping or an election is forced.” This doesn’t show up every time i try to launch chrome either.

Update: I changed the .exe’s name to “chrome1.exe” and curiously enough it worked just fine after that, so i guess solved, technically? I’d still like to find the source of the problem, though because it is kind of weird that worked and I didn’t get anything from virus scans.

I was having the same issue with Firefox, where it would close immediately when I try to open it (And with Chrome and Opera as well), reinstalling Firefox multiple times only once fixed the issue and the issue came back after rebooting my computer. Renaming the Firefox executable from firefox.exe to firefox1.exe fixed the issue though! Renaming the .exe file also worked for Chrome, but not with Opera. Booting into safe mode on Windows also worked for me but not a good long-term solution. Thank you Giantatom for the solution!
