Question Google maps message list

Today as I was using Google maps it made a beep and there were a on screen text box filled with some long message, I could only catch the fact that my email address was mentioned towards the end, what could the message have been?

Is there a place where I can see all of Google Map's messages so I can determine which one it was? I really have no idea what the message said and I need to know.

Google Maps Messaging ---- a recently added feature. Tap "Messages" in the menu on the left side.
However, I've no idea how long messages are saved, or even if they are saved at all.
