Google Search Not Working

I have a Windows 7 computer and Google won't search. The home page pops right up, but if you type something in it won't do anything. Everything else works fine.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

I've reset the browser and disabled the antivirus, but that didn't change anything.

Are you able to get to the google.com page and see the search bar and everything?

Open a command prompt and type the below and let me know what happens:

ping www.bbc.co.uk

if that doesn't get you a response try pinging the below.

ping 212.58.246.54

Let me know your findings.

Yes the home page comes up fine. I can type in the search bar, but when I hit enter nothing will happen.

Re-install the browser.

Well if anyone else has this problem the resolution was to run the browser in compatibility mode.
The issue was between Google's security and IE.

Sometimes it can be the antivirus or malware according to research, but that was the solution to this problem.
