Hi,
My dad tried to fix my laptop screen with gorilla glue, this was 9 days ago. Today it started smoking in that area after extensive use (about 5-6 hours of use. )
This happened without any flames or sparks.I shut it down, closed the screen and brought it outside.
Its been there for abou an hour and it's cold out at the moment. (No rain.)
I'm going to say that it is the gorilla glue that got overheaten and started smoking. I am scared that it will set on fire in the future if i use it. And i have my GCSE files for important subjects (computer science and IT) Which requires my laptop.

So this leads me to my question.
Is there a way to remove the gorilla glue from my laptop or should i just transfer the data to a new computer?

Please respond ASAP as i dont want my dad to try and fix it again as he has a terrible track record, and i may loose these important files that i need.
I am reluctant to transfer the data unless it is the only option and my laptop is worth £6000-£6500 which took me years to earn as a part timer.

Thankyou for your time

Solution
Especially after getting glue inside it. Doing things the right way, which would have been to either obtain a replacement screen and install it, or have it installed, is always cheaper than doing it the wrong/easy way, because in the end you will either have to do it the right way still anyhow or scrap the whole works. Trying to cut corners, just results in a thing with the corners cut off.
Gorilla glue is rather useless. For any particular application, there's always a better product. I don't use it for anything and I don't recommend that anyone else does either.

With that said, laptop screens can be replaced for far less than a new laptop can be purchased. If your laptop is new, you may be able to have it serviced, although I doubt that it will be free.

I remember buying into the Gorilla Glue hype and tried glueing the arms of my PC Chair back together. not only did it not glue the part together, it had foamed up and leaked all over the seat of my chair while I let it dry, leaving blotch something that looked like dried ... you'll figure it out.
