I got a new Gpu a couple days ago, and Performance in multiple games went way down while others went up. Games that went down:
League of Legends
Paladins
Games that went up:
Borderlands 2
Warface
Overwatch (still unplayable thanks to constant stuttering)
Skyrim
My pc specs are as follows:
Cpu: Intel core 2 quad Q8400 @2.66ghz
RAM: 6gb of ddr2
Psu: 275w Dell optiplex 755 original (same for mobo)
Gpu: Rx Radeon 550 Aero ITX OC edition
I know that the minimum requirements for the psu is 400w but I wanted to know if this performance loss is based on psu issues or cpu or maybe even ram.
I play on upgrading my psu soon. Please note that I haven't had any issues from the psu so far. I think I lucked out and got a nice one that doesn't let the gpu overdraw power. Also Will people please link me upgrades for my cpu. I also plan to use this same card in an AMD build so please help me set up a rig for that as well. (Please note I plan on upgrading my psu asap regardless of the bottleneck) Thanks in advance for your help and time.

Yes, I did a full reinstall of windows 10 just to make sure that wouldnt a be a problem.

Yep, Nothing else changed which is why I was hard pressed to determine the issue. It made a games that was easy to run like paladins unplayable, meanwhile whiles games like borderlands 2 and skyrim are to the point where I can max settings and hit 60fps

I looked into and it says my board supports x1 x8 bus interface..... the card runs at x8 so why does it go down to x1 ???

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Infinitydefined : "Bus interface x1 1.1 when cpu-z say's x8 is possible"

I just got a Rx Radeon 550 and it's bus interface is x8 and cpu-z says that my mobo is capable of this. Yet my everything say's that it can only run at x1 and x16. I want to know if it's possible to make the gpu to run at x16 instead of x1 which is what it is at now which is causing major performance issues.

I would say check your cpu temps for throttling issues.
In a scenario like this where where everything should see a decent performance increase it may be down to the gpu upgrade allowing your cpu to run at a higher performance level than it was previously.

It's an incompatibility issue; since it requires x8 and the motherboard apparently doesn't support it, it defaults to x1. The only solution probably is to get a GPU that runs at x16. At x1 it obviously is slower than the GT 430.

x1 is a serious bottleneck for the Rx 550.

It stay's at x1 Since I know the bus interface is the problem I've been looking for a fix. Is there anyway for a x8 card to be run at x16?

That being said performance in some games still increased..... Why?

I got it in store from fry's I could take it back but its not a that big of a deal. I'll just deal with it before doing that. I plan on using this card in a Ryzen build in the future till gpu prices drop.
