I just recently closed deal and sold (1)of my Gottlieb Rocky Pins. I
knew interest had grown in last few years in this pin, but couldn't
believe the amount of interest I got from buyers. I think the show,
"The Contender" with Sylvester Stallone must have fueled the interest
even more with all those fans coming out and wanting Rocky memorabilia.
I'm interested in how many collectors currently have a Rocky pin in
their collection. I still have my mint one that I kept, of course...be
interested to hear how many others have one and quick story on how you
came to purchase. It took me a long time to find one myself.
I am also fortunate to have one of the two Rocky Prototype backglasses
from the the movie Rocky III, Steve Charland, my good friend, is the
other of course. Steve if you are still on the board a hello goes out
to you. We haven't chatted in long time my friend.

Rocky is still in my collection and it came to me in a trade. A guy
offered me a Rocky and a Striker in exchange for a Counterforce! As I
didn't want to give up my own Counterforce, I traded a Super Orbit I
was given for a Counterforce on a Saturday and then off-loaded it for
the pair on the Sunday. I still think it was a miracle!

Rocky is a tough game to play. The playfield layout is unusal, with the
lower part of the playfield divided into 2 sides, just like Striker.
Passing the ball from left to right to get at the drop-target you need
for the round you're fighting is pretty difficult.

Fun game though and quite different also in the looks dept!

There are quite a few registered in the serial number database I keep.
If anyone cares to add any games to the database, let me know. It's
here: www.geocities.com/system80pins

Don't worry I haven't forgot you either my friend. Just have to throw
some props to my other buddy Steve Charland. He helped me so much with
my first Rocky when I had no clue about pins and how to fix them. He
also helped me find alot of the hard to find parts along with redoing
my boards...He's a classy guy and one of the best in the hobby.

I know, Steve Charland IS the best, but you were a big help in
restoring my Rocky, so your up there as well!
