GPU and Monitors

I'm looking to buy one of the cards from theAMD R9 and R7 series. However, I don't know what type of screen to pick. I'd like the card of my choice to be able to run at at least 60+ FPS on most of todays games on the monitor. Could anyone provide me with a chart where it shows performance of the R7s and R9s with different screens? I never had a PC, so I can't tell what type of monitor I'd prefer best. As long as I can run games smoothly on it. Thank You.

There aren't too many charts that pair a specific monitor with a specific game, you would be better off looking at GPU reviews to determine gaming performance. Pretty much any monitor you pair up today with the AMD R9 or R7 will give you the performance you are looking for, depending...

What's your budget for a monitor; $200-$400, $400-$1000? What resolution do you want to game at; 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 2560x1600? What level of detail do you want to see in your games; low, high, ultra high? Do you prefer LCD or LED?

You need to consider if the refresh rate (in MHz, the higher the better) response time (in milliseconds, the lower the better), and resolution (your preference) meets your budget and gaming needs.

Here's what I would consider a good monitor for the performance/price...ASUS VS24AH-P Black 24" 5ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor for $240 USD. Or If you have a bigger budget, then this is a really nice monitor...ASUS PB Series PB278Q 27" 5ms (GTG) WQHD HDMI Widescreen LED Monitorfor $550 USD. It's just pure coincidence that they are both Asus, not trying to push a particular manufacturer.

My budget would be about 300 dollars. I have no idea if the resolution makes a difference, but I'd want to be able to see the finest details. I'd want a quick refresh rate, and a small response time. The monitor you linked to from Amazon will do what you want and perform quite well. Very nice choice, especially for that price!! With a 144MHz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and given the 1920x1080 resolution, the R9 280X and/or the 290 will have no problems playing pretty much any game on high to very high settings. Heck with those cards you could get a decent level of detail up to 2560x1440! And, if tearing appears to be an issue, which it should NOT be with the monitor/gpu combination, just remember you can always enable V-Sync in the settings.
