[SOLVED] GPU at 0%, blank screen but on ?

I am not sure if this is the correct forum.

Occasionally, on boot the monitors are on but no Windows. The mouse works. I can ctrl+alt+delete and get to task manager. When i view performance, the GPU is at 0% usage.

Where should i start trouble shooting?

MBD: Gigabyte B550 AORUS MASTER with F15e BIOS
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x 4.6Ghz
GPU: MSI Ventus 3X 4070 12G
CPU Cooler:Thermaltake 240mm Water 3.0
RAM: Patriot PVS416G400C9K 32Gb DDR 4000Mhz 1.35v 19-19-19-39
SSDs:1TB WD Black M2 NVMe / 1TB Samsung 860 EVO
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 850w (72A on 12v rail)
Case: Fractal Design 7
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64

Thermaltake have a number of PSU's with 850W on their sticker under the Toughpower series, which unit do you have and how old is the unit?

You'll notice that BIOS version F15e is non existent, it's either that it was found to be unstable/faulty and was pulled from the support site. I'd advise that you reflash the BIOS to the latest F18d and clear CMOS then see if that helps alleviate the issue.

Could also be a driver/OS corruption. Can you get into Safe Mode without a hitch?

I flashed the bios to the latest, 18d. I updated all MB drivers and the nvidia driver. I'll check in later.

black screen problem with your GPU can happen due to various reasons. Outdated drivers or incompatible software might be causing conflicts. Overheating can trigger the GPU to shut down for protection. Check if the GPU is correctly connected and seated in its slot.

It just did it again. Mouse worked on a gray screen with now GPU usage and no windows.

This time i am logged out of all sites.

How can i removed the solved from this thread?
