I recently build myself a new pc.
Because of my budget I had to cut on the graphics card and used an old gtx 760 I had lying around.
Everything went smooth, installed Win 10 etc.
but when I'm playing a game the GPU Temp rapidly rises to ~98 °C
Because ~98 °C seems pretty high, I put my old gtx 550ti in the system, which is at ~65-70 °C when gaming.
Now my question is if something is wrong with the bios/some Software issue or the GPU is just dead and I shouldn't use it anymore
Specs:
Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Gaming
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: Palit gtx 760 (http://eu.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=2178&lang=de&pn=NE5X76001042-1042F&tab=ov)
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2400 CL16 UDIMM 288pin
Case: Fractial Desing Meshify C
PSU: 600W from be quiet! (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01MY98CM1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Chassis Fan: 2x ARCTIC F12 PWM installed in front (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00H3T1KBE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Thanks in advance
UPDATE (16.06.2018):
So I was finally able to remove the heat sink from the graphics card and the thermal paste came right off: https://imgur.com/a/wHxvFmX
I removed the old thermal paste with 70% alcohol and some q-tips:

After that I reapplied the thermal paste and tested the temps again - they were well below 100°C
For Fortnite:
With Side Panel: https://imgur.com/a/VeOeknz -> Max Temp 64°C
Without Side Panel: https://imgur.com/a/js15dDH -> Max Temp 65°C
Dauntless:
With Side Panel: https://ibb.co/dE65Xy -> Max Temp 82°C
Without Side Panel: https://ibb.co/g0Eg5J -> Max Temp 80°C
When someone stumbles accross this I hope it will help you
