Question GPU clocking down

Its all fun and games until my GPU starts to clock down from ~1400 mhz to ~500 mhz while playing - resulting in massive stutters for about 1/2 to 1 second. (My CPU is not even close to 100% usage) So my guess so far is that my psu (500W) is too low. Im not sure tho.

Have you monitored cpu and gpu temperatures? Down clocking is a sign of overheating.
