So I was just in discord with friends in a game of league and suddenly my screen turned black and I thought I just tabbed out. For a bit I could still hear my friends talking but after a few seconds I couldn't hear them anymore and my keyboard lights would go off but the fans were still lit up and were still spinning. The computer was still on. I turned it off by long pressing the power button but when I tried to turn it back on, the whole pc lights up for a split second before not doing anything when I power it on again. I suspected it was the PSU that died but I searched online about testing with a paperclip so I unplugged everything and when I did that test, the PSU was running fine so I thought it just needed to be discharged but when I plugged everything back in it was turning on only for a split second again before completely doing nothing. I was panicking the moment I suspected it was the gpu and sure enough, I unplugged the gpu off the 8 pin, the pc turns on (including the psu) and sure enough, the pc turned on andit was the problem. Is there anything I can do? I'm still coping that it's a PSU issue since the enitre thing shuts off when I plug in the 8 pin for the GPU

Specs:

  • A320M Pro
  • Ryzen 3 3200g
  • USED RX 580 2048sp
  • 16gb 3200mhz ddr4 ram (8x2)
  • Gamemax 750w power supply
It just sucks man :). I'm only 20 and from a kind of poor family and it's only been barely 2 months since I bought this GPU and this is my first ever GPU and even though it was old, but since I only really played fps like valorant, I've never been so happy having it after dreaming about getting one for over half my life. My first ever proper pc was basically this pc I got 4 years ago just without the gpu and power supply. Just plain old integrated graphics. It was only 3 months ago I decided to work for the duration of my summer vacation for the sole purpose of finally getting my dream of having a gpu. Now I'm too busy at school so I can't work and get a replacement or even fix it since I have expenses there too. It was a good 2 months with this guy but it still sucks and it's kind of depressing tbh. Thx for reading, I would appreciate any sort of ideals and help.

Your power supply is not working properly. make sure that the power cord is plugged in and that the outlet you're using is functioning properly. Make sure that there's adequate airflow around your pc and consider investing in a cooling pad or fan.

Paper clip test is no proof that whole PSU is working properly, at best it proves that it's fan turns. There are dozen different voltages and fan works only on 12v.
It should be tested properly.
That CPU has built in graphics so you can remove GPU and connect monitor to motherboard.

Yes, the pc turns on if its plugged in the motherboard but I'm still hoping its a cpu problem since power just doesnt seem to flow at all when discrete gpu is in
