I'm having a issue that whenever I power up my computer my monitor doesn't register (the led keeps blinking) and I have to use remote desktop software to finally see my screen and checked out the device manager and see that my GTX 970 isn't listed there, until I show hidden devices and then I see it grayed out.

I see the 970 says error code 45

I can get it to work again by restarting and powering down a bunch of times and it finally fixes itself until I restart or power down again.

I usually do a SFC /scannow and restart and I see the Intel on board adapter disappear and see the GTX 970 finally, but after I restart or power down it happens all over again.

I did a DISM scan when the SFC didn't cleanup everything but yet again same stuff happens.

I wanted to attach the CBS log file but I don't see any option to attach anything to this post so I've posted the end check of the CBS log for you. (let me know if there's a way to attach attachments on here if possible please)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

thank you

Check you have the most up to date GPU drivers https://www.geforce.com/drivers and do a clean install of the drivers. https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...n-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/

Thanks for feedback, I should've stated that I've tried the most up to date GPU drivers and still had the same issues so I rolled back to the drivers before the newest and still have issues, so I think i'll install the newest drivers again, but still have this issue.

Thanks for replying back!

I've tried for the past hour to get to my bios, which is super hard right now since I can't see the bios screen because of the black screen issue I have until I can use remote software when the pc boots up.

I finally got my monitor to register after uninstalling the 970 and powering down and booting back up so I finally got to the BIOS.

I looked for the discrete GPU option and with the BIOS I have it has a "iGPU Multi-Monitor" option though and if I enable it it says it will empower both integrated and discrete graphics for multi-monitor support.

I also see a Primary Display option and it's set on auto right now which the primary display will be set to pci-e when a pci-e graphic is detected. I'm wondering if I should switch that to PCI-E instead so it forces the display from the PCI-E too.

I'll try that and see if it works!

I'm getting a 2070 RTX soon and I was wondering if this would fix the issue if the discrete option doesn't work?

I also have the CBS.log if that is helpful at all, but you can't attach on tom's hardware so let me know how I can send it to you if you need it.

Thanks again for the help it's much appreciated!
