Question Gpu displays a black screen with a non blinking underscore

So I recently bought a Radeon HD 7770 and installed it in my pc(on the pcie x16 slot)
But when I power on the PC, the only thing I get on the screen is a black screen with a non blinking underscore in the top left corner of the screen. I am sure that it's the GPUs fault L, because when I install my old GPU(which is a Nvidia GeForce gt210) the PC works perfectly. I'm not sure that the Gpu is broken or something, but I keep having that exact problem with the HD 7770. Oh and I tried before cleaning the Gpu, it powered on, displayed a weird error, and that's it, so then I cleaned it, and the underscore was there. (the cleaning process was only changing the thermal paste, because the rest of the Gpu was clean) Any suggestion could help.
