hi, i have this problem with my Astock 785gm-s3 motherboard that doesnt power the gpu when left off for a day or longer. I know its the motherboards fault, because i changed gpus and psus and my new gpu still doesnt turn on.
My question is: anyone knows what could be the problem on the mobo?

no its pm
lugged all the time, leaving it unpluged doesnt change anything.
I already changed the battery, but it seems it doesnt do anything when the pc doesnt boot

It could be an old hard drive is failing.

no, i dont have an old hard drive on and i tried without any drive bit it still would do that

Your motherboard may just be too old. All you can do is update to the latest drivers and BIOS and hope that helps. Don't try using any version of Windows other than Windows 7.

what do you mean? when the fans start apinning, the motherboard runs fine without problems. Its just that sometime it doesnt spin so i need to either replug the monitor cable or reseat the gpu

I misunderstood what you were saying. If that is the problem, then it sounds like the GPU fan is not working properly, it may be dirty. Next time instead of reseating the GPU, try spinning the fan with your finger, that will tell you what the problem is.

im sorry that i didnt explain it better, but what i wanted to say is that sometimes the gpu fans dont spin and i dont get a signal. Thats why i reseat the gpu every time i dont get a signal

Check this setting in the BIOS. When your PC is left off for a day or longer, it reverts to the default setting and searches for a video card in the PCI slots, not the PCIe slot. The small coin battery on your motherboard must be dead, so it can't save your BIOS settings.

Primary Graphics Adapter
This item will switch the PCI Bus scanning order while searching for video
card. It allows you to select the type of Primary VGA in case of multiple
video controllers. The default value of this feature is [PCI]. Configuration
options: [PCI], [Onboard] and [PCI Express]

ok thanks! I actually saw the setting and changed it to pcie, but it still happens. I dont think that the battery is dead because all the oc settings are saved and not changed. i also dont get the battery dead warning when starting the pc.

Have you checked all your drivers in Device Manager?

for what?

Look for any yellow warning signs plus if they are all up to date.

there are no yellow signs in the device manager
