Hawk is 1 gb and other 2 options 2 gb….. which one to go for.



Is it worth spendind extra for 2 gb to make it future. Intend to use the card for 3 odd years.

Look at the non-reference 560 Ti designs, factory OC'd to 900 Mhz. Among them you will find several models that have upgrade dPCB's and beefed up VRMs. The ones w/ 7 phases or more and the special coolers have been known to top 30% overclocks over the reference card speed.ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II TOP is one of them.

I agree with bigcyco1 about the ASUS card. Have been running the 1GB version for a while (sli now) and its been a great card only let down by the 1GB of vram onboard.

The 2GB model should alleviate the only downside of my card.

The 2GB 560ti is only useful when overclocked to it's limits (core runs out of puff before utilising the memory)..
I would suggest a 7850/ GTX 480 at that price range..

But this all depends on what is available at your end, and the prices..

1.The ASUS 2gb oc top gtx 560ti is better not by allot 2.It would already affect your game play because allot of games need more than 1GB 3.No you cannot SLI a 560ti and a gtx670

I can however concur the 560 ti gb isn't worth it, it is a good card, just not after 1920x1080, it runs out of steam

The Asus TOP is a great card....,I have installed probably about 2 dozen of them and all but one hit 1000Mhz.....for overlcocking and longevity, it's all about the VRM....the
TOP has a 7 phase design, the Gigabyte has 7 also, the EVGA has just 4.

The Twin Frozr, has less....IIRC it has 6 phases......the Hawk and Lightning have 8 and 10 phases though I don't recall which was which.

In SLI, two of the Asus TOP hit 862 fps....the 570 hits just 11 frames faster at 873 in Guru3D's game test suite. In the same suite, the 560 Ti (900Myz) and 7850 are within 203 frames of each other and both have the same % overclocking headroom. For an extra $50, the 7850's cost in dollars per frame is just too high.....in your neck of the woods, with different pricing structures, your mileage may vary. The 660 Ti is reportedly days away from release.....expected 2nd week in August if rumors are true.

Batman Arkham City in 3D on a 120Hz 1920 x 1080 screen with twin Asus TOP 560 Ti's in SLI was a eye opening experience to say the least.

And no, you can't SLI the 560 and 660 but you could use the 560 for PhysX tho it's way more card than is needed.

Hey sorry for deviating from the subject

but initially I was planning to get the 560ti but as you see I reside in India
here a few dollars is not the exact diff in cost

so for the price of a 560ti top by asus in the market , there is also a 7850 to grab

PLUS in the international market a 7850 and a 7870 wont differ in cost by a great margin, but here the cost is differing by almost Rs 6000 ( approx 110$)


so that restricts me to buy a 7870 (due to budget)

now I am left with a gtx 560ti and a 7850

majority state the 7850 faster than the 560ti,

(I HAVE NEVER USED AMD GPU's over NVIDIA but when it comes to performance/price ratio analysis I dont mind getting a 7850 also, if it really has more to offer )

I will say this, never will I get into a number crunching battle with you mate....
