Question GPU (GTX 970) bit the dust, what are the odds that the PCI slot is still working?

Basically the title. I was playing a game yesterday, it was running fine, I exited out of it and maybe fifteen minutes later I hear a "POP", my screen goes dark, and I smell a burned plastic smell. I determined it was my GPU because none of the ports on it work, and checking device manager (my integrated graphics still worked) did not show my GPU, none of the Nvidia software would work, and my Intel Integrated Graphics software showed up, and I honestly have never seen those programs lol. Although, the fans were still working on my GPU. Anyways, I basically wanted to see from the experience of others if my PCI slot is likely still functional, so that I can replace my card.

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Please include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

You should inspect the slot and the GPU for any visible signs of burns or damage considering what you've heard(and smelt).
