Hi all -

I'm preparing to build a gaming PC and wanted input on the hardware I'm planning to use:
  • Intel Core i7-14700K
  • NVIDIA RTX 4080/Super
  • 32GB DDR5 6000MT/s Memory
  • 2TB NVMe SSD
99% gaming, 1% simultaneous live streaming.

With this build, can I expect to get ~200FPS on Warzone 3 with native/low settings in 1440P?

I'm a noob, so any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated : )

Hey there,

Being honest, I wouldn't want that hot potato (CPU) running riot in my case.

I'd swap out for a 7800x3d on an AM5 mobo. Better gaming CPU. More efficient.

Okay.. Thanks for that.
I've heard AMD is typically better for Warzone. Can you expand a bit on why the 7800x3d vs i7? Does it literally overheat?

Sorry, again I'm a complete noob

No worries, we're here to help.

So, both Intel and AMD CPU's run hotter this Gen. Intel chips can run up to 100cwihtout throttling (this is by design to increase performance). The CPU will always try to push the clocks as far as they are allowed to thermally or power wise. Kinda the same for AMD.

AMD also run hotter than Zen 3 CPU's. But they are more power efficient and run slightly cooler at full speed than Intel chips. They are more efficient than Intel processors.

Intel do offer more cores in the mid end. But the 7800x3d is the main man for gaming. With 8c/16 threads, it's also good for your setup, with generally lower temps whilst gaming.
