recently ive been having buzzing noises randomly appearing in my pc.i tried disabling my h100iv2 cooler with its fans, disabling my mechanical hdd, disabling my case fans and monitored the psu to make sure the fans don't spin, and I cant replicate the issue.the sound happens at random times regardless if its under load or not heck it even happened when I was in the bios.

https://vimeo.com/239332922 this is what it sounds like.at 0:09 is the part where the sound kicks in(vid was recorded while i was in my bios)

now what ive tried doing is uninstalling my gpu from out of my pc and using dedicated.until now im not able to hear the buzzing noise anymore.

what is it with the gpu thats causing this?i know coil whine is normal but this isnt the typical coil whine i expect to hear especially when the gpu is not under load.

msi gtx 1070 gamming x

msi z270 gamming m7

i5 6600k

16gb ram ddr4

corsair rm850i gold

There are only a few things that can create noise from a GPU; Fans, Coils, and vibrations from Fans. It doesn't sound like coil whine to me. Are the fans completely unobstructed? If so, are the fans noticeably creating vibrations?

Sounds to me like a power hum.
Your PSU is well rated. Be nice to try another to rule it out tho.
What about the circuit your connected to, and any external peripherals.
Disconnect those, and try the system powered on a different circuit.. wondering about a ground issue.

since I don't have another psu to test out,one thing I tried doing was monitoring the psu fan speed on corsair link.so as soon as the sound comes in I quickly look at the fan speed on corsair link to see if the psu fan is spinning and it seems like it dosent spin when the sound kicks in.

no VIMEO for me... redirects

I doubt it's the PSU since there's minimal added dGPU load in the BIOS (like 8W or something). Thus the graphics card.

Are your graphics card fans off?
Most cards can do that for light load. Still the graphics card, but if it's not the fans it must be coil whine (an electronic circuit that induces resonation into a component at an audible frequency).

It may not be "typical" coil whine but if it's the graphics card and the fans are off it MUST be coil whine.

OTHER:
I can't access the video, however I should add that when my FANS spin up from being off I get a "scraping" sound (EVGA card) just once then it's gone. I ended up preventing my fans from shutting down with a custom fan profile.

Probably not the problem but worth mentioning to be certain.

Heard the video, but all I detect is a solid hum which doesn't seem like coil whine to me though it's possible it is.

At this point, maybe try two other things:
1) unhook absolutely everything not needed, even the HDD's and SSD's since it can happen in the BIOS

2) try touching the case or graphics card to see if that dampens the noise

NOISE is always due to resonance. A portion of the computer is vibrating. Sometimes you can DAMPEN that noise by touching an affected component.

Still, since the graphics card removal supposedly eliminates the problem (please confirm) I'm struggling to understand how it could be anything besides the graphics card having COIL WHINE (as the fans aren't spinning on it in light usage as indicated in the video).

The graphics card can change the RESONANT frequency of the case so in theory removing it might prevent certain sounds from appearing, in which case PRESSING DOWN on the case should dampen the sound. I doubt that's the issue though.

I cant hear the buzzing noise ever since I removed the gpu.so the gpu probably the cause of that noise.however this confuses me since the buzzing sound that plays at 0:09 sounds way different to the sound of typical coil whine.

the gpu isn't under any sort of load yet its audiable enough to hear out of my case.also it happens at most random times
