Hey.
Yesterday I decided to clean out the dust that built up around my fans. All was swell until today I realized that my GPU is no longer recognized. Tried re-plugging about every plug just to see, which led to monitor stop working. After almost completely re-assembling my PC, my screen started working again, but GPU is yet to be detected.
At first the the adapter would appear as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and seem to look fine, despite my original GTX 460 SE not being detected, but minutes later, my screen would flash, change resolution to lower, and if I'd try to change it back to the original res., it'd look like this:

http://i.imgur.com/c660y51.jpg (I hope you can see the black line pushing the other side off screen slightly) and the adapter would now appear as "Intel(R) HD Graphics".
I don't know what to do anymore, and am greatly upset about what is happening, especially if the card will have to be replaced. I hope any of you can give me an answer, spent all day ripping my hair out and trying to get it fixed 🙁
