Gpu or Bios issue

Hi all,
Hoping for some help. So i recently moved unplugged everything and took my pc to a new place. Plugged my tv into HDMI works fine.
Had to unplug to move it slightly (I am very careful with it), plugged everything back in nothing. Well i say nothing I have a monitor working off the motherboard and boots up.
After hours an hours I removed the CMOS battery and boom it works over multiple boots. Great!
Today I start it up again no gpu being used. I have done nothing!!! Yet hear I am pulling my hair out. Im not overly techytech so please bear with. I have ensured bios is set to pci 1.
Intel i5 4690
Sapphire tri x 4g
Motherboard gigabyte uefi
All drivers are up to date. And I just did the cmos thing and it worked again. Ugh anyone know could it be the battery?

When you tried via HDMI, was that from the motherboard or the graphics card?

I would open the computer up, pull the graphics card out, then put it back in. It might have loosened it self in the moving.

Really sorry. My monitor is through normal connection blue on sorry i forgot the techytech name. The HDMI is attached to the gpu. I have carefully removed and even cleaned the graphics card and replaced last time. But will have to do so again I feel tomorrow.

Sometimes the onboard video is chosen as primary, instead of the graphics card. THis can happen when the Primary Graphics Adapter setting in the BIOS is set to AUTO. Instead of auto, choose External Graphic Card.

With this I have 5 options. Auto, pcie 1 (currently selected), pcie2, pcie3 and pci. Have i had it wrong? Should it be pci instead?

def not pci. If your card is in the topmost spot, i think that its PCIE1 typically. I think you have it on the right setting.
Yes, batteries can go bad and cause weird stuff to happen. In fact BIOS settings going haywire is the #1 symptom.
Another option is to reset the BIOS to default, and then put any changes back manually (dont use the save slots for settings).

I have had the motherboard for a few years now so it would make sense. Our of curiosity CR2032 seems to be a common batt2ry would anyone recommend just a standard store battery or more specific? I.e. ebay

get a quality battery from a local store, i always get duracell (probably will be freshest) since i want to be able to rule out the battery causing problems. I bought lots of cheap batteries from ebay before and they typically are garbage and may be nearly dead when you get them.
