I got 3 options to choose from, just wanna run this game smoothly 40-50fps is enough for me at 1080p....

my current system is :
i5 2500
8gb dominator plat
GTX 780Ti

Upgrade 1 :
replace 780Ti with gtx980 but stick with i5 2500 and 8gb ram

Upgrade 2:
replace i5 2500/8gb ram with i7 3770/16gb but stick with 780Ti

which is the best bet to go. i aint got cash to spare

Solution

Well, looks like you don't need an upgrade, you're already able to run the game at over 40fps.

Yeah, I think a 1070 would be...
Well, for video games a GPU upgrade has more impact than a CPU upgrade, so I would say go with replacing your graphics card, though first I'd want to ask if you've tried running the game with your current configuration. It's a pretty powerful PC, so I think you'd be able to have 50fps at 1080p without doing any upgrades.

If you were to upgrade the GPU, I think it would be a better move to go with a 1000 series card, like a GTX1070.

yes i did try it out. cpu usage is 100% after disabling crap services.
wont a 1070 bottleneck the i5 2500. i am getting 40-45fps on high , ultra gives stuttering....

Yeah, I think a 1070 would be bottlenecked by a 2500. If it were at least a 2500K you could've overclocked it, giving it more performance.
If I were you I'd keep the 2500 and 780Ti for 1 more year, seeing that you can still play the game at good fps. I think it's kind of sad to put away a good card like the 780Ti.

The 1070 is a pretty beastly gpu, I don't think it will bottleneck the i5, even it does it won't be noticeable

I don't think you understand what a bottleneck is. When I say that the i5 will bottleneck the 1070 I mean that the i5 isn't powerful enough so it won't keep up with the 1070, so the 1070 will have to wait for the i5.

Yes, that sounds good, and with that CPU, you won't have any problems if you upgrade your GPU in the future, like a GTX1070.

3770 is done....around 150$ difference i can get the 980, 200 $ difference the 980Ti...ill probably go for the 980Ti.....shouldnt be a problem at 1080p correct?
