GPU or RAM or CPU

I am using Lightworks to render videos for YouTube and I was wondering what it used to render. GPU Memory, CPU, or RAM? I need to know this to find out what I need to upgrade for better performance.

I also need to know this because when I render a video my computer shuts down (no blue screen). I think it's the cooling from what I've read so I am going to apply new thermal paste. I would like to know first what I need to upgrade for better rendering performance

I have 2GB Video Memory, 16 GB RAM, and I can find out my CPU Specs. I am rendering a video at 30 FPS and 720p. If you guys can find out I may not need to upgrade but I don't know.

When I am using Lightworks and am done editing my video I was wondering if exporting the video and the video rendering use GPU memory or RAM? I have 16 GB of RAM and 2 GB of GPU memory. I am rendering a video to 30 FPS and 720p. If possible could someone tell me if I need to upgrade anything to render at these settings?
I am asking because my computer shuts down (no blue screen) when I render the video. From what I've read it's because of cooling. I would like to know about the hardware specs point of view before I reapply my thermal paste and/or get a new fan.

Use Event Viewer to look a some specific error code or warnings just before or at the time of the shutdown.

There may be multiple log entries if there is some cascade of events taking place.

The objective is to find addiltional information to support or rule out a cooling problem per se.
