I have an old dell inspiron 580s. It had an ancient i3 550 inside of it and I wanted to breathe new life into it.
Here are the new parts list:
Mobo: Intel DH61CR
CPU: i3 2130 or 2140 (can't remember)
RAM 2x4gb hp branded
HDD 360g Seagate
PSU is known good. 250W
GPU Radeon r7 240 2gb
My problem is that when the gpu is in the system, it doesn't post. When the power button is pushed, I get lights and fans, even on gpu. The gpu works in multiple systems. The computer posts when I take it out. I've messed with the bios, I've set the pcie graphics to primary, and I don't know what to do next. I do not want to spend money on this system. I fixed it with parts I have lying around. my best guess is that the psu is maxed out.
