My pc has been black screening when playing games and sometimes other tasks recently, so i monitored the gpu while playing world of warships. I thought it was either due to my psu not being able to power my gpu anymore or the gpu failing. But i dont know too much about this sorta stuff so i was hoping you lot could tell me what it might be, and therefore which part i need to repair/replace.

Can this tell us anything about what the problem might be?

My Pc specs are :
Nvidea GeForce GTX 760 4gb
Intel Core i7-4770K @3.50GHz
Asus Z87-K mother board
Corsair CP-9020048-UK CX 600W Power Supply
Windows 10

should i replace my psu?

This sounds like a potential heat problem. Are you monitoring your GPU operating temperatures? If so, how hot is it getting? Are you overclocking anything (CPU, GPU, memory)?

Your PSU should be more than sufficient for the described system.

If you could just click once on the tabs in the sensors tab such as temperatures, It would cycle to max readings. If you can post a screenshot of that after just a bit of gaming so that the GPU heats up. 5-6 mins should be enough or just before your PC blacks out.

The temps are pretty low but I guess that is because you cannot use the GPU for quite some time. If you can then try to get another PSU to swap out with yours and then try playing as the PSU could be failing to power the GPU properly.

thanks, i raised my gpu's fans and i was able to play for longer. this time when it black screened it went black and stayed black. rather than going black for a few seconds then coming back. so could that mean its my psu?

Yea mate 'could' mean. Cannot be sure about anything unless we check it out. Best if you make sure by borrowing one from a friend or whoever and then buying one.

will do, what should i do if i am not able to borrow a psu?

I think a multi meter is required to test a psu for yourself. The best you can do is if there's a computer shop nearby, get your PSU checked under load. As it is doing fine when it is idle. You can also take your GPU to some other PC and test it there just to rule it out completely.

would it be possible to test the psu under load if i was to adjust the power limit for my gpu and also to lower my game settings to see if it lasts for longer?

I changed about some stuff on my gpu, raising the fans and power limit to 65%, while putting the temp limit on 80 degrees. I was able to play many games of world of warships but my pc black screened after two rounds of counter strike. Which is more than i was able to do before. On top of this when i restarted my pc it went black a few times, saying dvi in the top left-hand corner.

Far as I think that is a PSU problem then because when you limited the power then the PSU ran fine but CS GO I think takes quite some RAM so it blacked out again. It might have went black due to no power being supplied to the dvi.

Think its 100% psu as when my pc black screened msi afterburner said my gpu was using 0% power.
Thanks for the help mate :)

think im gonna get this to replace my psu
