GPU temps high when idle

Recently got a MSI R9 290 and the temperatures were sitting around the 35C idle, and now they are hanging around 45-60C for some reason. I checked the task manager and theres no heavy programs running.

Its been on auto since i got it so i dont understand why the temps are going up by +10C

No i got the graphics card 2 days ago it was totally clean then

I suggest you return the card.

I dont really see what has happened, because the first day i got the card the temps were fine, and the day after they started to go up. Could it be a program thats using it and not showing up in the task manager?

It's either you overclocked the card or your room's temperature.

I haven't done any overclocking to it and the room temperature is the same as the other day. I just find it odd

Well,I find this problem very odd too.But the only solution I know is to increase the fan speed.That took care of my old MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost heat problems.

It only seems to up to the mid 70C when under load playing games so i don't think it's the cooling thats causing it since it works like it's supposed to when under load

70 is pretty normal.
