gpu upgrade help

I have a colormaster radeon HD 7850 I am not sure if should upgrade or not if i do. what should i upgrade too?
will the xfx r9 290 do the trick? i can get this for 200$

spec are
CPU: FX 8320
mobo: msi 970 gaming
PSU: corsair 750m
ram: 8gb

well to start an upgrade would be good if you get lag in most of your games or want to play on higher settings.
and the 290 is becoming outdated if you are going to upgrade wait for AMD's new gpus or look for a 970.
otherwise a 290 will be a good upgrade
