GPU Upgrade Question

Hello guys,

I was looking to upgrade my video card shortly. Here is a screenshot of my pc specs, I also have the following power supply:

I know the CPU is a bit dated, I put it in 4 years ago. I was looking to get the following video card:

I know that I only have PCI-E 2.0, but from what I was reading currently putting a 3.0 into a 2.0 slot does little to no bottlenecking. I have two main questions here. First one is, I noticed they have the two molex connectors along with a 6 pin to go into the video card. I have seen these before, but it looks like there is also cord with an 8 pin connector on one side and two 6 pin connectors on the other. Is this just an alternative because I don't think I have the connections on my power supply for this. My other question is, with this CPU being a little dated will this GPU be a bit too powerful and will there be any bad bottlenecking with that?

Video card is compatible with the system.

You will need to be able to supply the appropriate power. What is your power supply model?

I have an Antec EA-750 right now. It is the first link in my post. Here is a link to my current video card too:

This new video card just requires 500w minimum and I have 750w. I was a bit curious about the different power connectors for this new video card as well.

Your Antec can supply enough power and has the necessary power connectors: don't let the picture of the parts included with the video card throw you off track; those parts are supplied for the people daring enough to try to run the video card with a power supply that doesn't have the necessary power connectors.

According to the Antec description, you psu has two (2) 6 pin PCI-E connectors AND two (2) 6pin +2pin (or 8 pins) PCI-E connectors. That 760 card requires ONE 6pin and ONE 8 pin PCI-E connections. Per Nvidia the minimum power needed is 500watts for the entire system with a minimum of 30Amp (current) on the 12V rail: Your 12V rails will provide nearly 3X that amount of current.

Your CPU will not bottleneck anything, and still has some life to it and is plenty fast for the new card.
And you are correct about 3.0 and 2.0: We mere mortals will not see a difference in performance between the two specifications, and PCIE 3.0 cards are fully backward compatible with 2.0. You WILL see a big performance diff. between the 760 and your old 560Ti.

To answer your first question, your current power supply should be sufficient to run the 760 SC. To power the card you need 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin. According to your power supply's specs on newegg, it is equipped with 2x 6pin, and 2x 6pin+2pin (which are the optional 8pins).
