Grand Theft Auto IV doesn't detect my USB PC Controller?

I just installed GTA IV and plugged my USB PC controller that looks like a PS2 controller, I've used this controller with other games and it works.

But with some reason GTA IV doesn't detect my controller i can't even change controller configuration i can only use the Keyboard and it
Sucks.

Does this game only works with an Xbox 360 controller? do i need to buy one so the game can detect it?

patch it up. the latest patch adds support for directplay controllers.

I already Installed patch 1.0.3.0 which is the latest and I even turned on Direct Input in the Game and Still doesn't detect my Controller, I'm using a generic usb controller that i have used in other games before.

What do i need to do?

yah it does support 360 controllers look on the back of the box

or in one of the books inside it has the 360 controlls for gta iv

Hi,

You don't really have to buy a xbox controller. you can also download ps3 controller drivers and fixes for the game, and instal them.
