who said? i think think UFO's chart thingy is an awesome idea. I also think your PS paragraph is infomative. I just think the paragraph should be made easily for people to understand as in, instead of spend 5-10 minutes reading two long paragraph they can understand the concepts in 3-4 sentence.

I understand what your saying, but its really up to the author. In a broad sense, there will be 2 kinds of readers: ones that desire merely to understand the basics, and others that crave to know everything they possibly can about Graphics Cards. An in-depth one will fulfill both cases kinds of readers, (the basic knowledge will always be present in an indepth description).

Um dude, the reason you'd want to read technical stuff is because you wanted to learn about it in the first place with descriptions.

You just can't describe properly what Pixel shaders do in a few sentences.

It's not finished yet. It's in alpha stage.

Hey, the chart thingy is my idea!

That's why I called it an "Alpha" silly. About 95% of the stuff you asked for in the list of cards is there. I actually considered putting in the GeForce/Radeon DX7 class of cards myself, but since it wasn't in your list, I figured you wanted the more recent cards. But hey, its a great start I think. Oh, and about the Xabre cards, I was wondering the same thing, In THG's review of the Xabres, these cards were classified as DX8.1 even though they only had PS 1.3. But, in this case, I just decided to go by the chart.

I have an idea to fix the lack of info stuff and also keep the faq relatively short (I have suggested it before for other things), but I don't wanna share it until I see my PICs. You know what I'm talking about!

It's not blackmail, it's called extortion kid!

DAMN!

LOL! SCAM!

*points water-gun* I'm not afraid to use it!

Where's my PICs? I like me 'dem Duuurtee Weemen! 😱

OK here it is.

ARCHIVE the long crap, then LINK to it like this:

<A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=374941#374941" target="_new">GW's good pixel/vertex description</A>

<A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/verminboy_99/Evil.wav" target="_new">Why ATI cards do better in DX9/PS2.0 stuff than the nV cards and look magical at the same time</A>

Anywhoo, that way you create the post to explain it, and then link that post into the FAQ, even when it switches to the archives it's still there, and you can add or subtract the links, and even edit each section without having to rewrite the whole thing every time.

Sound like a good idea to anyone else?

Makes it easier, and quicker, and people can work on their portions without necessarily co-ordinating the whole project. Whoever the coordinator is simply pastes the links to the pages. It also keeps people from being too worried about brevity, and allows them the space to properly explain things, and yet allows people to skip over the section if they don't care about that or already know it.

It also allows people who can't contribute NOW to come back later and add without disturbing or overlapping.

Once again, that's just my two frames worth.

OK, now, <b>GIMME BACK MY SON!</b>.. err, WHERE'S my PICS?!?

I thinks that's a great idea. THis forum should ahve <b>only 1</b> sticky, and that sticky should contain links to all of our THGC Graphics card projects rather than having half of a dozen sticky posts clouding up the front page. (which is 10 threads for most users if they haven't configured their THGC browser settings.) The top thread probably be best labeled "<b><font color=red>THGC Graphics Card Resource Center</b></font color=red>" or something of similar nature. Oh, TGGA, what do you think of my chart that Spitfire posted?

THis forum should ahve only 1 sticky
Considering CS has control of the first sticky and I didnt feel like dealing with his control problem, I got a sticky of my own. The sticky that Fredi gave me is going to have more information then what I wrote about shaders, and the name is going to change. I was going to have you help me UFO but since you dont feel as though I should have that sticky in the first place...you can cram it:)

<b>I help because you suck</b>

I like your sticky & the thought that went into it. You did it on your own (from my observation) & that's a good thing! More power to ya Man!!

Skinny

Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!

You're joking, right? I didn't have any problem whatsoever with your sticky. Didn't I mention something along the terms of "Half a Dozen". We don't have 6 stickies yet. Personally, I think your sticky would most likely be the best managed. I am perfectly for your sticky. Besides, the first sticky is in spitfire's name.

Let me repeat: I AM NOT AGAINST YOUR STICKY! I AM VERY MUCH IN SUPPORT OF IT

Clearern now?

My first post in your sticky, contains my sentiments exactly, which describe it nothing less than <b><font color=red>EXCEPTIONAL</b></font color=red>!

MO SNO! <b>MO MO SNO!</b>

😎 <- Oakley Sunglasses for Skiing!

THX.

IF Eden would get Scammy to get those pictures up you can see the Great Grape Mountain Ape in it's 'NATURAL' environment.

When I first sent my pictures to Eden, it was five months before they ever got posted. I sucked scamtrons dick numerous times since then though, so my next batch of photos will go up quick 😎

MMMmmm Sticky! Like Honey Glazed Timbits! Mmmm! 😱

My only concern with a BUNCH of sticky(s) is that the first page will be full of sticky posts. However I definitely support that one, although I should probably remove my responses (but don't want to leave just "DELETED's all over the place. But I'll leave it 'til you decide what to do with it. Mmmm immortalized in sticky GOO, I always thought it would be carbonite, or Porn! 😎

But for a change of pace I will not get involved beyond my suggestion and let the ebb and flow of the forum decide.

Then of course I'll criticize from the cheap seats throwing Cracker Jack and red NIBS at the masses (hey it''s better than feces, beleive me! 😱 )

I'll just write a blurb on why Matrox ROX!

ATI Sux, nVidia Blows and Matrox Gives Good Multi-Head!

EDIT: and based on the above GW..., well we'll just try to forget about that, alhtough I'll never get the image of evil out of my head. MAKE it go away! Yeah, I'm not worried, but I like to bug Eden about it since he 'bugged' me about adding them.
