Question Graphic card reaching high clock speeds on idle

Hi Friends, so recently i got myself an msi gtx 1080ti gaming x graphic card, so the other day wehn i booted into windows, i opened up msi afterburner and saw that my gpu clock speed was 1543mhz, and mem clock was 5500mhz and this was on idel while my temp was at 40c and was slowly increasing when no games or anything running. please help

i7 4770k stock

16gb ram

128ssd

msi gtx 1080ti gaming x stock no over clocking

corsair 650watt psu

I do not think anything wrong with the gpu because mine is at clock speed and sits at 35 temp when on idle at 1230mhz only gose up when playing games on facebook or normal games or when computer using it when load up my computer and such!
