Help! I'm building a PC for photoshop editing . There are so many choices out there for graphic card choices. Can someone make a recommendation to help me narrow down the choices. The hardware requirements on the photoshop page weren't helpful. Currently I've purchased/have the the following hardware:

Where are you located? What is your budget for a GPU purchase? Preferred site for purchase? In case you/we might run into clearance issues, it's a good idea to mention the make and model of your case.

Hang on a min!

How old is the PSU?

If you look at the first page, that was printed back in 2008.

Nvidia is more or less the go-to in the photo/video editing space due to their CUDA programming and stuff like having dedicated encoders/decoders that don’t use the regular shader cores. I personally use my Nvidia GPU for both gaming and video editing. I can’t speak to AMD, although I’m sure they are fine.

For photo editing you probably don’t need something that crazy powerful or expensive. If you were to pick up a used RTX 3060 for example, it should probably be more than enough.

New GPUs are a little weird right now since Nvidia stopped making the 4000 series cards but it’s slow-rolling the new 5000 series cards and they won’t be available in normal quantities for a while.
