Graphic upgrade for 990fx Extreme9/AMD 8350/Radeon HD4800

Want to know if I can turn this into a gaming gig for my son by replacing graphic card with something like 1070 and possibly a new power supply or if just scrap it ?

I would put 1070 as top GPU that could be served by FX8350 even overclocked but 1060/ Rx 580 would be better match, several times better than HD4800.
How much of a "Gaming rig" it would be is dependent on types of games and their settings but with state of some games even super computers may have trouble because of lousy game engine optimization.

Thanks for the response.

My son currently plays mostly League od Legends and other low graphic intensive games but i expect this to change hence the upgrade. I want something that will last him several years and of course can be handled by current machine. I will keep an eye on 1060/1070 comes this black friday. Thanks again
