So this has been happening for a while now and I have finally decided to do something about it. When i go to update the Intel Graphics Adapter I get an update failed and I do not know why. I'm going to include a screen shot because they could explain the problem better than me I feel. I'm not really sure what else to include.. I also have this GPU crashing problem when I play games but it doesn't happen all the time.. It usually happens in resource intensive games although I have yet to find the main cause of the problem. Links to previous threads will be down below.

If anyone can please help me I would be very thankful. My father is having tough times with his job at the moment due to new laws and whatnot and I am unable to buy a new PC or replacement parts. I've just tried so many different things I don't know if it is even worth trying to fix my desktop anymore. It's been messed up since mid-July and the problem will come and go and I do not know of a cause.

First never use Microsoft for driver updates.
Second, go to the Intel website and download the latest drivers from there. Choose your operating system and download from here.

As far as the crashes and blue screens, the most common cause is overheating or bad system memory when it comes to integrated graphics.
Unless you are overclocking.
I will look at your other threads and see what I can do for you.

I myself have never looked into overclocking and never will as I do not want to take the risk. Also I'm more than positive I'm running off of the Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 with 1.5 gb, not integrated graphics. This crashing happened roughly a year ago and I had my graphics card replaced while my PC was under warranty and that fixed the problem for almost an exact year basically. The problem couldn't be over heating because this doesn't happen all the time. I could play a game for a few minutes and it crash or I could go a week without a crash. I don't think it is bad memory because I can play heavily modded Minecraft which uses a lot of memory and I don't get a crash.

If you need any information ask me and I will do my best to answer you!

Looking at you other threads you have an Alienware with a GTX 660 graphics card.
The on-board Intel4000 graphics will be disabled when you have a discrete card installed. So the driver update will fail on disabled hardware.
Since it is a couple years old it most likely needs a good cleaning. You would be amayzed at how much dust and lint will build up on the heatsinks and intake vents.
A small paint brush and a can of compressed air will work wonders.

Download the Nvidia drivers from here and choose the custom option. Place a check mark in the do a clean install box.
