still iq problems? psh... just immature drivers
Hah! Immature, ok for this card, maybe, but for the whole line far from it. Where is all this great nV driver recovery? Seriously, that would be fine if these weren't TWIMTB-Pooped games. No excuse for immature drivers there, and in many cases this was the latest (2nd set) of drivers for the GF6800, and nothing chaged except for jumps in performance that brought other questions.
Why don't ATI supposed terrible drivers experience these same issues, even when reviewers use the old 4.4 Catalysts?
wait until PS3.0 games come out... that's when 6800Ultra shines your ass
When that happens people will be using it to shine their A$$, because the NV50 and R500 will destroy it. You show me one PS3.0 based game (not just a minor tweak of PS2.0 game) to launch in the near future and then I'd grant you that. The only thing that might come close to that would be the D]|[ and that's OGL so the limitations aren't as rigid as D3DX, I doubt even then the benifits would be as architecture based as they are extension and optimization based.
Right now I don't think anyone can pick a CLEAR winner. Both sides have their benifits. And there is no way that an Ultra nor an XTP are 'BEST BUYS', both OC terribly compared to their slightly lower brethren. Sure they are monsters, but I'd wait for the non-platinum XT, and for the price of the Ultras to actually solidify.
I find it funny that you still can't get a GF6800, but it's alrady part of a buyers' guide. But hey, if a change is needed so be it.
However like early FX5600Ur2 vs R9600P reviews I could show you as many reviews favouring one as the other. I'd really like to see the defence of the choice of either, beyond the idea that they are better deals than people want for 5950Us and R9800XTs.
