Dear friends,

My PC Config:

Processor : Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5GHz (E5200)
Motherboard : Intel Original DG41TY Motherboard/Graphics : GMA 4500(Onboard)/PCI Express 1.0 version x16
RAM : 2GB 800MHz PC2 6400 DDR2 RAM
Hard Disk : 500GB SEAGATE SATA2 HDD
PSU : 300W ATX 24PIN iNTEX SMPS
Optical Drive : LG DVD+RW 22x SATA
Monitor: 19" DELL LCD TFT (1440x900)

I am going to upgrade my system in terms of Graphics. That means I will add a new Graphics Card, upgrade RAM to 4GB and for supporting graphics card I will replace my psu with good powerful one.

1.) Which graphics card it the best, I mean my budjet for card around $200(for Graphics Card). Preferring <$200.
2.) Please suggest some good PSU for my system with links.

I have some list on mind like HD 5750/HD 5770/HD 4850/HD 4870 and 9800GT/250GTX

Pls provide your valuable advice.

Is the $200 for the card and PSU or just the card? If you need card and PSU, I would go with the gts250 for $110...otherwise if you have $200 to spend on just the card the best you can get is the 4890...for just slightly more you could get a 4850x2 for $210, and it performs on the level of a 5850 so it is a great price/performance choice.
If you want to save the money of upgrading the PSU, you could search out a 9800 gt low power version

A Pentium D chip will bottleneck the crap out the 5770 or any 48xx series card -- to say nothing of the 58xx series. Probably even if you overclock it, although that will help what you can do.

I would say a 4670 is more like it ... MAYBE a 4830. Anything higher I'm afraid will be a waste.

Whoops. That changes things. Guess I should have read it a little more carefully. 😗

In that case, I agree that a 5770 is about right, while 58xx might still be overkill. And yes, still overclock the hell out of that thing.

personnaly for your system i think you are going to high end it will bottleneck them cards i would go with a 9800 gt or gtx or a hd4850 anything more then that your prob waisting your money and maybe upgrade your power supply but i had an older system i had a 9800gt on with only a 350 watt PSU and it was fine

I have a 9800 gt superclocked and it runs anything i throw at it in maxed out settings no problem

We really need to know what resolution you will be playing at to make a proper recommendation. But basically if your resolution is below 1920x1080 then an HD5770 will be very good and anything more powerful is of questionable value, especially considering the price difference. If it is 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 then the HD5770 would still be pretty good but if you have the money I'd wait on the HD5830.

Mostly 1440x900, sometimes 1280x800 too. I have one another 22" monitor on which I playing on 1920x1080. But I using this less times rather than first because of low frame rate on games.

Yeah, just get the HD5770. Forget the other cards unless you plan on upgrading the monitor to something with a much higher resolution in the near future. Honestly that card is massive overkill for that resolution and will serve you well if you do decide to get a new monitor. If you are pretty sure there is no monitor upgrade in your near future and would like to save some money an HD4850/HD5750/GTS 250 would all be great for 1440x900.
