Hi guys, I've been running this pc for about four years now and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card. Here's my specs:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ** OC'ed to 4.2GHz ** ($214.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($89.49 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1GB Video Card
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ** Mines the very first CX600 though without any 80+ certification ** ($64.29 @ Amazon)

What do you guys think about the following as possible replacement:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr9280x3gbd5t2dheoc * If I can afford *

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/super-flower-power-supply-sf750f14mg * Have to replace PSU because mine is crappy *

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Powercolor isn't a very well known brand. Meaning it probably isn't as good as ones such as EVGA, or Asus. Think about it, if it were that great, wouldn't more people have them? So I would probably go with the GTX 950, but an even better option would be a GTX 660 for a little more.

I'm pretty sure the 950 out paces the 660...

OP: What monitor do you use?
Personally I would recommend the GTX 960 for 1080p gaming @ high settings. Your CPU has plenty of power to justify the better GPU. If funds are tight though, the 950 would be a good choice.

So about the first one - 280x. I think much better option would be getting the r9 380 over the old 280x. I know that 280x might be more raw powerful but it turms of future proof and DX12 r9 380 is the top choise of these price range.
However, if you decide to go with the lower budged graphics like the 950 it is a good gpu for it's money.

Hi guys, I forgot to mention my budget for a graphics card would be about $200. My monitor is 1080p. The reason I asked about that Powercolour was price, the R9 380 here would cost $277, the 950 works out to about $191 & a 960 would be $249. That doesn't seem like a huge difference, but in my currency it would be thousands of rands, the R9 280X is R3000, the R9 380 is R3670, 950 is R2550 & the 960 is R3300.

These are the cheapest prices I could find locally, I know the Powercolour isn't raved about, just saw comments from the people that bought the 280X that loved it. The 380 is pretty sweet though..

Any of these cards would be an improvement actually. Still want to know what you guys think. What do you guys think of the PSU, that would be my first buy before the graphics card.

I haven't heard anything about the Super Flower PSU before. But it is a tier two PSU on Tomshardware. So it should be sufficient. All companies were new once. May as well give them a shot :)
