Im upgrading my gpu in my pc soon, and I was wondering how to ground myself. Do I need a anti static wristband for a hopefully quick upgrade? My bedroom has carpet, so I'll be building it downstairs on a wooden floor, but I've seen videos where it says that you should keep your pc's psu connected, but turned off, (But I can't do that). My case is a cm 690 ii which is made of lots of plastic, what will I need to touch to ground myself? Thanks.

Your GPUs.

You can unplug your PSU, just wait for it to discharge any stored energy before you begin. Probably by time you get from the carpet to wood work surface.

There will be a metal structure inside. I would just touch something metal inside first, like a screw, to make sure your at the same potential as the components.
