I need to get a budget graphics card. After some internet search I selected two graphics card from nvidia GT 740 2GB & AMD R7 250 1GB.
Both are GDDR5 & AMD has little lower in price compared to the GT 740, but AMD has only 1GB of memory. So which one I can select between these two.
I don't have any idea to increase my budget. So I need to select eaither of one between these two.

what will the role of these be? If gaming both are pretty bad, but the 750 would be better. The 750 is a stronger card and the 1gb of ram won limit you anyway because the card is too weak to allow setting to be turn up enough to use the whole 1gb anyway.

I'd also recommend a GTX750, non Ti. I've seen it priced about the same range as R7 250 while promising much better performance. The 1GB variant of 750 I saw as low as $80 or less. The latter is adequate for 768p/720p performer.

That's a good point. Here are my recommendations:

For gaming, both cards are worthless. your best bet for a budget card is to check eBay for used cards. A used Radeon 270x is around the same price as a new 250.

If you're not gaming you can buy either and it won't matter. They're both fast enough to render the desktop and have hardware video decoding.

Hi,
If you have Intel CPU I will suggest you to buy the GT 740,
if you have AMD CPU I will suggest you to buy the AMD R7 250, because AMD
make Radeon GPUs and If the CPU is from AMD and the GPU is from Nvidia the performance will be
worse if the GPU is from AMD, too.So I personally would choose the GT 740 because:
1) Have 2gb VRAM.
2) I always use Nvidia products and am very pleased with them.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the choosing!!! 😉

LOL What???

I saw that & honestly cba to respond to such silly comments.

First, thanks for the reply. I'm not a big gammer & I'll not use much graphic demanding games. I'll use my PC for work, learn & for free time gamming. Now I have GT630 which is OK for my work but its not worth for even a very low graphical games.
I'm not looking for very big games on my computer. So desided to go with eaither GT 740 or R7 250 which is more then enough for my usage. But only thing I'm confusing with the memory size.
What factor I can take for comparison? 1GB vs 2GB or AMD vs Nvidia or GT 740 vs R7 250?

Also the R7 250 1GB has another one varient which is R7 250X OC version again its much cheaper in price compare to GT 740 or GT 750.

Above I explained all my requirement & still now I'm in confusion. Still if you are recomending GTX 750, I can get one. But you are all experts and experiance with multiple grphics card versions, so still I'm expecting for your best recomendation.

Now the options are
1. GT 740 (2GB) ZOTAC 123$
2. GT 740 (2GB) OC version Gigabyte 121$
2. R7 250 (1GB) Sapphire 113$
3. R7 250X (1GB) OC version Powercolor 107$

Wow. good to hear. The 250X version which i mentioned is from powercolor. This name I never heared before. Is it a trusted brand?
I have a question in my mind always to know the answer, but I never did. Is it really important to concern the manufacturer (brand) while selecting a graphics card?
Experts always advice to get a repeated brand for motherboards like ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc., Graphics cards also comes from different brands. but peoples always talking about the graphic card versions but not about the brand. Is it brand also an important thing while selecting a graphics card?

From my situation, can I go with powercolor graphics card? the link is below.

I have corsair 450W SMPS. Is it enough power to overclock a GPU(R7 260x)? How much I can overclock the GPU? My other system specifications are listed below

Intel 4690K processor with stock heatsink
ASUS Z97 Pro Grammer motherboard
2x4 GB RAM
256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD
2TB HDD
Corsair 450W SMPS
Cooler master forse 500 cabinet

More importantly, is it the GPU already overclocked?
