Hello friends,
My PC specification :
CPU - Intel i5 4440
Motherboard - ASUS H81M-C
RAM - DDR3 8GB (4x2)
GPU - ATI Radeaon HD 4350 1GB DDR2
HDD - SATA 500 GB
DirectX 10.2

As you can see my pc's specs are almost equivalent to recommended specs of GTA IV.
But it lags too much (I mean it takes ages to drive car just few feet) and fps is very low.
I tried to play it on lower resolution and updated my graphics card driver but the result is same.
Can anyone suggest me where my pc lacks?
or it's some kind of software issue?

GTA IV is poorly optimized. I've NEVER got it running well on any system I own.

My current system is an i7-3770K + GTX680 + 16GB DDR3.

My frame rate jumps to values that make no sense as well. It's the strangest thing. I recently discovered there's some weird MEMORY LEAK, as I would play for a short time then get massive FPS drop, then exit and restart last checkpoint only to have the FPS at same point be good again.

*Your GPU as said is very weak, but GTAIV for most people just doesn't seem to work regardless.

You do have a nice CPU so I recommend saving up for the best graphics card you can afford. Preferably a minimum of GTX750Ti 2GB. Not all cards listed but here's a good roundup of relative performance:

Thanks for the quick reply.
I also thought the same.
My Power supply strength is 500 W and budget for new GPU is under 7k.

P.S. Is my current graphics card is fully supported by my new motherboard? Its DDR2 1 GB HD 4350 from amd and its 64 bit.

He's claiming 15-22FPS when not recording
(1024x768, medium/low settings)

To me that's basically unplayable, though it sounds like you got WORSE performance?

Other than updating your DRIVERS I'm not sure what to tell you, but then again GTA IV as I said is pretty wonky on different systems for no obvious reasons. Okay on one, horrible on another.

To see if your system is generally okay you really should test a DIFFERENT GAME. Something like Half Life 2 for example is a great game and tweaked properly probably will run nicely on your system. Say 1600x900, medium etc but I'm not completely sure.

GTA IV Is Badly Optimized For PC...
Moreover Your GPU is Not That Good To Play Such Badly Optimized Games...
So Changing The GPU Might Help You To Play The Game Smoothly But Not On Maximum Settings!
Hope It Helps!

Okay, GTA IV is poorly optimized, we get it... :D

What country are you in? Could you link us to an online store you use so we can recommend a card?

Also, do you know the brand and model of the PSU? If it's a good brand we can push it a bit more, but if it's a no name, we need to give it plenty of room.

Hi, As you suggested I just installed Assasins Creed IV - Black Flag to test whether it works smooth or not but sadly same performance with this also at 1080p also at low setting (1024x768) it lags as much as anyone can give up playing it.

So overall conclusion I think its time to replace my GPU.

Can you suggest me a good one bellow INR 7000?

Thank you...

As for your power supply, it looks like a piece of crap but it will be okay considering the low wattage of your system as a whole. I was thinking your budget would be higher, in which case some of the more expensive graphics cards would need a better power supply.
