GTX 1060 very bad performance in csgo

My friend just bought a gtx 1060 and a 144hz monitor but when he launches csgo he gets 100-120 he should be getting wayy more, tried updating drivers turning off v sync nothing helped, would like some help please here are his specs
GTX 1060 6GB
intel pentium cpu G3258 3.2ghz
12gb ram
windows 7

as Mr kagouris said above the cpu is your problem, you should get at least an i5 to get stable framerates in csgo

if he overclocks the cpu a little bit will it work ?

No. It will help a tiny bit but it won't solve the problem. I recommend upgrading to an i5 4460 instead of dropping money for a cooler to overclock.

Very strange that you have an 1060 but a pentium CPU, an intel I5-6500 would be pretty nice with that 1060.

I have a similar problem especially in csgo, with a 1060 6g model but i have a amd a10 7850k. any help? (1st time using this site btw)

no it is plugged directly into the gpu using dual-link dvi
