GTX 1070 MSI Aero OC, not performing good. Please help me out.

Hello guys,

I just bought a 1070 AERO OC and its performing worse than my older gtx980 :/ I am very confused... i try to play the witcher 3 on 1440p and the framedrops are terrible. (ofcourse nvidea hairworks is off)

The rest of the setup is this:

MB: Z170A GAMING M5
CPU:I5 6600K
8 GB 2133MHZ RAM

Does anyone now what is going on? the heaven benchmarks works good on 1440p ultra 120 fps or so.

Even if i lower the graphics to 1080p on the witcher 3 the frame rates still drop :S

I'm still struggling to believe my card is hitting it's full potential. Just went through some taxing VR games and noticing I get this same frame drop in pretty much any game I am playing. Everything is buttery smooth, but then every 10-15 seconds I get this skip like everything hangs for a millisecond, then kicks back in. Monitored my CPU the whole time, 100% across every core. My GPU however, still only hitting 97% GPU usage.

From what I am seeing from others online, possibly an issue with the 10 series cards themselves. I've seen quite a few people with new 1080's and 1070's seeing this frame drop. Nvidia just released a hotfix for the DPC latency issues, but seems many are reporting the problem is still there. Hopefully a future update with fix things.

I was having the same problem on a previous build, i just got the card and threw it in and it was having the same problem as you guys. I made a new build (which is why i got a 1070) and installed the FIRST drivers for it and now its a champ. So i come to the conclusion you may have to reinstall your OS and use the 368.39 drivers. Why idk why but it seems to work.

From wht o hear is a driver issue with the anniversary update for windows 10. But i think they release new drivers that fix that just read the changelog
