Good days guys.

Disclaimer: I am really new to building computers.

First, I want to verify, if having a good graphics card will increase the Video Quality of games, because right now, what I have is a GTX650, and most of my games are in Low Quality.

Second, I am planning to buy a GTX1080, is it compatible with my current built, here:
Processor: i5-3470 @ 3.20Ghz
Motherboard: Asus P8H61-M LX3 Plus R2.0

Will 1080 be compatible with those parts, or should I also replace both of them.

Thank you

Solution
yes it will make a big difference. however you still won't make full use out of a gtx 1080 with your cpu. i have an i5-4460 and gtx 1080 and even mine gets bottlenecked in most games. so i'd recommend a 1060.

Okay I see.
Sorry for this silly question, regarding my first question, so in any case that I upgraded it to GTX1080, can I already play at higher video graphics and resolution?

Thank you.
Yeah, I read about that bottleneck issue.
So for better performance, what I can do is probably get a 6th gen Intel processor with the GTX1080?

And another question, do you think, it is compatible with my motherboard?

Thanks!

a gtx 1080 would still make a big difference in performance, you just wouldn't be making full use of it. so yes you'd want atleast a 6th gen i5-6600k. but to get that you will need a new motherboard.
if you want to make full use of a new graphics card, the gtx 1060 or rx480 is a good option. your cpu won't bottleneck
