GTX 1080 F.E vs 2 of the AMD RX 480

Solution
seems like you have money to burn to me 😀

I personally would wait for the RX 480 for the plain affordability, AMD showed that 2x 480 beats out a single 1080 and for $300 cheaper however that was just in that single test they did (although it should be noted that if the 1080 could actually run the game without being given slight headstarts it would be a more reliable test 😛).
But I encourage you to wait to see the verdict on the scalability of the 480 and if its as good as that of the last generation of R9 300 series cards then seems a no-brainer to go with the dual 480 or more setup

just my 2 cents :)
You are aware you are powering a $3000 computer with a low budget tier 4 PSU? There are so many bad things that can result from this, I can't begin to mention them all here. System stability, and component longevity would be at the top of the list of things a low tier PSU can effect negatively.

Tier 4 - "Built down to a low price. Not exactly the most stable units ever created. Very basic safety circuitry or even thin gauge wiring used. Not for gaming rigs or overclocking systems of any kind. Avoid unless your budget dictates your choice."

You can get away with using a cheaper motherboard for sure, plus the overly expensive case but if you absolutely have to have an Inwin, go for it. Good selection of components but a little on the unnecessary side. I also prefer the samsung Evo series SSDs, rather than Adata. Theyre nice budget friendly but also very reliable. I would change the mobo to a z170-A from either ASUS or MSI or the MAximus Hero mobo. And opt for a cheaper but more logical case. Get the 1080 or 2 and call it a day.

Gamer, thanks for your time. I should have clarified. I will be using the PSU, and storage from my current build, here. I really agree with your say on the mobo, but I have some extra money, and really like how that one looks. Plus whats a green build without a green LED mobo (Cough Overkill Cough) Right? So why not 😉. On the case, I am looking for a cheaper case that works well with watercooling, like the Fractal Design Define S. But if i cant find one, inwin it is. I really like the clean look of it.Whats your take on specifically the 1080 vs RX 480?
I really thank you for the time.

please for the love of God get win 10 pro... it seems to me that from your current build to this one, its not worth the money unless someone is buying your old computer. which is in all honesty a great computer. I have almost the same set up but more memory and OC on everything... It is a beast. I score over 6k on passmark with my video card being the weakest link... my 4790k scored around 12600 @ 5.0. infact the 4790k stock scores better than the 6700k in most tests. why not go with the 6800k or 5930k? they are both much more powerful for around the same price. As far as video is concerned thats where you should put your money. but depends on what you want to do with it. Seems to me your build is just for bragging rights so go with the nvidia. SLI that mother.

Are you still even interested in this post? If so I have to ask why you dont just get the EKWB EK KIT x360 or p360? They both have Ek's top quality Supremacy EVO water block. They come in 240, 280 and 360 for the performance (p) kits and 240, 360 for the extreme (x) kits. I just ordered the p360 myself waiting for it to get my build going. These kit are the nicest I have seen anywhere. They come with everything you need in the box. The price is still in a good range from $189 to $379 at PERFORMANCEPCS.COM, if you're in the states, there are other stateside vendors.. I was past $400 by the time I hit your waterblock price. The 6800K or above are not gonna be any faster than the 6700K in any game on this planet in this decade. Period for whoever wrote that comment. Right now there are no games using those cores so save your cash there. Unless you are doing other things besides gaming that can benefit from the 6800K and above. CAD, CAM & CAE or any other type of program that will benefit from all those cores. The 6700K is a powerhouse and I speak as an owner of one myself for the new build. What's the TP Link for? Your board has wifi and it's good. Im going with the Hero because I don't need all the other stuff. The memory is where i would lay some more cash. Sorry I have 16GB in my current system and I can notice that it would help to have more. I purchased 32GB 16x2 DDR4 dominator P's @3000mhz. Get more RAM and before you do check the ASUS QVL (qualified vendors list) so you don't have any regrets. Mine came from amazon which is Corsair's top vendor and they will exchange my sticks if they are not compatible. I would not get the GTX 1080 right now only because I would kick myself when the TI's come out. If you can wait for it do it but don't listen to the other guy talking about the RX 480. Two of them dont make one GTX 1080 I don't care what anybody says. Heck one can barely shake a stick at my current 980Ti. If you cant wait until then go for the 1080 hands down. I believe the ASUS Strix is making headlines right now just dont get founders edition cards as I believe theyre not worth it if you want to OC or get one already OC'd. I'm not sure if you want to run 1080p, 1440P or 4K but the 1080 will run any of these, multi display no issues as it stands. Maybe temperatures and card noise will be an issue. Also for 4K I have only found a test with two monitors. It ran both and scored above any card Titans included. I am running a single GTX980TI on an ASUS PG27Aq 4K monitor and maintain 60FPS on Doom, COD Black ops 3, Ashes of the singularity, Fallout 4 and Rainbow 6 Siege just to name a few. Finally for the case fans try the Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 2000 PWM. These are extremely well rated $22. a piece but highly worth it. Check out a few reviews although you choice is pretty good also. Hope this help and good luck with your build.

You ought to know better than to trust a review from the guys that make the video card. But of course you know it wont be biased or done specifically with a program that makes it shine.

for psu try getting a evga supernova 850 g2 fully modular..they seam to be cheap right now and support sli/crossfire
